History
Versatility, marine quality and innovative solutions are the strengths of the First 41 s5 called Sirah. Boat born from the collaboration between Bénéteau and the designer Philippe Starck. Produced in 1992, Sirah is one of those specimens born in the sportier version with lead keel. The mast with a 9/10 split rig has two orders of spreaders quartered without flying shrouds.
Brought to Sardinia by the former owner, and never too late, Marco Serra, Sirah in the 90s and 2000s won the offshore regattas of the III Fiv zone. Holding for 14 years, among other things, the record of the historic "One hundred miles in the gulf of angels" regatta. Record beaten only and solely by the ocean sailor Andrea Mura aboard his Open 50 "Vento di Sardegna".
Regattas
Sirah remained out of the racing fields to undergo a complete refit:
modernization of the equipment and the deck plan together with the specialists of Creative 39 ;
study of the new sails signed Andrea Mura ;
new electronic components for receiving and sending data designed together with Nuraghia .
All the works were carried out with a view to participating in national and international regattas starting from 2021.
The 2021 regatta projects, apart from participation in the coastal classics throughout Sardinia, include participation in international regattas, in the x2 category, such as Giraglia and the Rolex middle sea race .
In addition to the crewed races like the 151 miles and the Palermo-Montecarlo .

Team
A boat like Sirah, handsome and original, could not but choose (yes, it is the boat that chooses the crew) an equally handsome and original team.
The people who gravitate around Sirah's project are all trained sailors and thanks to the various transversal skills they bring innovative solutions to the boat to always reach the top of the ranking.

Andrea Locci
Andrea is the bowman and rigger on board. Mechanical engineer, profound connoisseur of boat rigging, he is the one who confronts the Creative 39 team to better prepare the boat for any type of conditions you may find in racing. In addition, it takes care of all the technological part of the boat when you are at sea.
Pierluigi Locci
Pierluigi, structural engineer and fine tailer. The Sage says: "When you no longer know how to adjust the sail: ask Pierlu!". Years of regattas and training have led Pierluigi to have a particularly developed sensitivity and eye to understand and anticipate the adjustments of the bow sails.
Pietro Mureddu
Pietro "Pigy" Mureddu is by its very nature the extension of the mainsheet. An agonist from an early age, he grew up to the sound of optimists, 420, 470 etc. etc .. Pigy's curriculum can certainly not be summarized in four lines: Skipper RYA, racer, toolmaker and so on and so forth. Among his many racing adventures, he can also boast a participation (5th place in the category) in the 2019 "Rolex middle sea race" in the double class with the G34 boat called "Lima".
Gabriele Marica
The biggest mistake an owner can make is not to give Gabriele the helm where there is this possibility. Gabriele starts very early with sailing: his commitment, passion and dedication to this sport have always paid off, so much so that his sailing CV is full of podiums both in terms of drift and height. Among all the prizes, it can also boast recognition from CONI for the competitive activity carried out.
Francesco Russo
Participation as a bowman in international and world events in the 420 class together with the friend and companion of all time
Gabriele make Francesco (better known as "Checco") "a fundamental element of the crew. Together with Pierluigi he deals with the adjustment of the bow sails, even if, given the experience gained in the regatta fields, every now and then some tactical advice the crew asks him willingly ...
Serena Aresu
Serena, class "you can't tell why I'm the only woman on board", is the ship's center. Graduated in pedagogy with full marks from the University of Cagliari, she is the one who takes care of the dynamics of the crew in the regatta.
Central expert, he juggles between stoppers and sheet bites, but in case of need he is able, thanks to his exceptional agility and reflex protection, to take the place of the bowman.
Domenico Caparotti
Domenico, born in 1999, is a unique twenty year old. It combines strength and
dynamism of young people with an extraordinary wisdom and maturity
professional. This is because he made the sea, the ocean in particular,
his school of life. Graduated from the Nautical Institute of Porto Torres, he works
in the nautical sector dividing itself currently between France and
Sardinia. He is a sailor of the Mini 6.50 class, he regularly participates in
national and international regattas aimed at sailing professionals.
Follow Domenico on his website or on facebook or Instagram per rimanere aggiornato sulle sue avventure per mare.
Alessandro Balia
Alessandro is the tactician on board, together with Gabriele he decides the strategy and tactics to keep in the regatta. From the wind shifts, to the change in the current, Ale does not miss anything that happens inside the race course. FIV instructor, expert athletic trainer, takes care, among other things, of keeping the crew at the top of physical prowess.
Francesco Farci
Trimmer, helmsman or tailer you can always count on an exceptional performance from Fiu. Skipper RYA, can boast Atlantic crossings, participation in offshore regattas (those with a capital A) and so on and so forth. Recently he too became a "minist" Domenico, when it comes to achieving results, Fiu cannot be ignored. One man, a guarantee.
